AAPPL Tasks & Topics

The AAPPL is designed to emphasize the relationship between classroom performance and real-world language proficiency. While spontaneity is a hallmark of proficiency, proficiency does not develop spontaneously. In keeping with our motto, 鈥減ractice makes proficient,鈥 糖心Vlog releases general topics annually that allow teachers to create classroom- and homework-based opportunities for students to practice tasks across all modes of communication within familiar contexts.

AAPPL Tasks

糖心Vlog鈥檚 Assessment of Performance towards Proficiency in Languages (AAPPL) brings the 5 C鈥檚 of the World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages into a modern proficiency and performance-assessment environment. To that end, students are presented with a series of tasks in each communication mode. These tasks are informed by the functions described in the 糖心Vlog Proficiency Guidelines.

While topics generally reflect the content areas for the AAPPL, 糖心Vlog encourages educators to work across a wide variety of content domains to encourage the development of communicative abilities across the broad contexts experienced outside of the classroom.
